How do I remove a trojan virus using Tizer Secure™?
Before you can remove a trojan virus, you first must use Tizer Secure™ to find the trojan virus and any other malware on your machine. To do so, you can perform a scan—either manually or via Tizer Secure's™ scheduler module. When performing a manual scan, you can choose to run a Quick Scan or a Deep Scan via Tizer Secure's™ Advanced Scan module.
A Quick Scan is a smart system scan that searches all files and registry entries in specific locations for trojans, viruses, spyware, adware, rootkits, and other malware. It also scans all running processes, cookies, and startup locations. We recommend performing a Quick Scan at least once per day. A Deep scan searches for malware throughout the entire hard drive and any additional drives connected to the computer. Deep Scan takes more time to complete. We recommend performing a Deep Scan at least once per week.
To manually perform a scan, click on either the Quick Scan or Advanced Scan buttons on the left navigation bar. If you go into Advanced Scan, make sure the box in front of the Deep Scan option has a checkmark in front of it. In both the Quick Scan and Advanced Scan modules, you will click on the START SCAN button to perform the scan.
You can perform other functions on your computer while Tizer Secure™ searches your system for trojan viruses, spyware, adware and any other malicious activity. Once the scan is complete, Tizer Secure™ will take you to the results screen, which has two tabs. The first tab is labeled Threats, which lists any malware found on your computer that matches the known threats in Tizer Secure's™ database. The second tab, labeled Suspect Threats, includes any files, processes or EXEs that match the criteria set forth in Tizer Secure's™ heuristic scan to identify new and unknown potential threats.
You will need to take action on the listed item in each tab separately. On the Threats tab, you must choose the items upon which you wish to take action. You can choose to either REMOVE, QUARANTINE, or IGNORE the selected threats. If you click the REMOVE button, the items you selected will be permanently removed from your system. These entries are also temporarily stored in the Quarantine folder as a safeguard against erroneous deletion. They are overwritten by fresh entries from future scans. If you click the IGNORE button, Tizer Secure™ will leave these items on your computer untouched and will not find them on subsequent scans. You can choose to QUARANTINE selected items so they will be isolated from your system and blocked from running. Quarantined items can be restored if it is determined that the files are not malware.
On the Suspect Threats tab, you must choose the items upon which you wish to take action. Click on the BLOCK & REPORT button to block the suspected EXEs from executing on your system and report the suspected malware for analysis. Our technical team analyses the reports and updates the application's database as well as its heuristic scan engine. We recommend using the reporting procedure with all Suspect Threats due to the small chance of false positives. Reports also enable the Tizer Secure™ technical team to collect valuable information that helps us continuously improve detection capabilities in real time to counter fresh threats as they arise.
